Prétérit simple/Simple Past

Travailler le prétérit simple/ Past simple

 

Le past simple sert à exprimer:

 

 

ACTIONS passées                    I watched a nice movie

Terminées                                 They went to Australia in 1998

Datées ou datables                  You saw him yesterday / when I was in Edimburgh

 

Conjuguons le verbe to watch (regarder/observer/surveiller) 

 

Affirmation

I watched

you watched

he watched

she watched

it watched

we watched

you watched

they watched

 

Négation

I did not watch = I didn't watch

You didn't watch

He didn't watch

She didn't watch

It didn't watch

We didn't watch

you didn't watch

they didn't watch

 

  • Sans le -ed il est déjà sur DID

Interrogation

Did I watch TV?

Did you watch a German movie?

Did he watch it?

Did she watch..?

Did it watch...?

Did we watch...?

Did you watch...?

Did they watch...?

 

Tous les verbes anglais utilisent l’auxiliaire Did, sauf TO BE, qui est autonome, il fonctionne seul (voir conjugaison)

 

To be au Past Simple

i was

You were

He was

She was

It was

we were

You were

They were

 

A la négation on ajoute not:

I was not = I wasn't

You were not = you weren't

etc...

 

A l'interrogation on place was ou were en 1er:

Was he here yesterday? (était-il ici hier?)

Were you there last week? (étais-tu là la semaine dernière?)

 


 

ATTENTION, tous les verbes anglais ne sont pas réguliers. Voici une liste des principaux irréguliers:

Irregular verbs

 

La conjugaison à la négation et à l'interrogation suit les mêmes règles

Sujet + didn't + verbe 

Dis + Sujet + Verbe?

 

Pour l'affirmation, il faut connaître l’irrégularité du verbe:

example: to speak devient SPOKE et non speaked

it spoke

We spoke

You spoke

They spoke

Le présent simple sert à exprimer:

 

 

VERITE                            Cats eat mice

HABITUDES                    He drinks coffee every morning

GOUT                              You like American movies

 

Conjuguons le verbe to speak (parler) 

 

Affirmation

I speak

you speak

he speaks

she speaks

it speaks

we speak

you speak

they speak

 

Attention:    to have :He/she/it has

 

Négation

I do not speak = I don't speak

You don't speak

He doesn't speak

She doesn't speak

It doesn't speak

We don't speak

you don't speak

they don't speak

 

  • Sans le s à la troisième personne du singulier, il est déjà sur DOES

Interrogation

Do I speak English

Do you speak German?

Does he speak French?

Does she speak..?

Does it speak...?

Do we speak...?

Do you speak...?

Do they speak...?
